Safeguarding Curriculum
We have developed a bespoke Safeguarding curriculum tailored specifically to meet the needs of our children, ensuring it aligns seamlessly with our Christian Values and the British Values. This curriculum is thoughtfully designed to foster a secure, nurturing environment where every child can flourish. By embedding the principles of respect, compassion, and integrity, we aim to create a community that reflects the teachings of Christianity and upholds the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. Our approach is holistic, focusing not just on safety but also on the moral and spiritual development of our pupils, in line with our ACE Curriculum Vision.
Our Safeguarding curriculum is rooted in the unique context of our locality in Arundel, the broader United Kingdom, and the diverse world beyond. It incorporates local traditions and community practices, ensuring that our children understand and appreciate their immediate environment. At the national level, the curriculum emphasises the importance of being informed and active citizens of the UK, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility. On a global scale, it educates students about their place in the wider world, promoting global awareness and cultural sensitivity. By doing so, we prepare our children to navigate and contribute positively to a rapidly changing and interconnected world, grounded in values that reflect both our Christian heritage and the inclusive spirit of British society.
In EYFS (Reception, Rainbow Class) and Key Stage 1 (Year 1, Dove Class and Year 2, Butterfly Class) children begin to understand what being safe is all about. As they get older, more information is disseminated to help them make good choices.
In Key Stage 2, the curriculum is focussed more specifically to those year groups.
