ACE takes a significant role at the West Sussex Children,

Young People and Learning Conference

We were very fortunate to be the only primary school in West Sussex to be invited to publicly talk at their first ever conference which included children.

A conference can spread ideas and practice to others but this year our children were given a platform to voice children's and young people's views about education, what matters to children and schooling.

For adults, attending this conference clearly helped generate enthusiasm and engagement for embedding children's ideas across the local education network and within the new Local Authority plan.

For our children, the conference gave them the opportunity to have their voice heard and, through their involvement in the planning stage, it allowed them a chance to pitch their own ideas in front of over 300 people. This was a really powerful experience for our children and give them a taste of what is involved in event management and planning as well as letting them share the ideas with local decision makers and influencers.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the children for representing ACE in the ACE Way and for their families for supporting us with this hugely successful part of their educational journey.
